THE GREAT HINDU REVOLUTION OF NARENDRA MODI

All these clever journalists got it wrong: true UP voted for Narendra Modi – but more than anything, they voted for a man who works 17 hours a day, who puts the country before himself, who is bold enough to take a huge gamble – demonetization – because he believes it is necessary for India. A man who fights against corruption without fear and is the Prime Minister of all Indians, though once more, it is the Hindu vote which elected his party the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

This election may also have signalled the beginning of the end of caste politics, another cancer that gnaws at India’s entrails – and Mrs Mayawati had become a champion at it, taking a leaf from the Indian National Congress, who for 70 years, mostly got elected on the Dalit & Muslim vote.

Many newspapers and television channels blazed across the headline: “Saffron wave in Uttar Pradesh”. This is another ill-advised coin word, that wants to sensationalize and demean, but which falls flat. What does ‘saffron’ mean? First saffron is mainly cultivated in Kashmir – and that by Muslims – so it’s a wrong comparison. Secondly, in Hinduism, saffron is the color of renunciation, a beautiful and noble tradition, that has been followed all over the world, by Buddhists, Jews, or Sufi saints. Mr. Modi and many of his ministers, such as Manohar Parrika,r have renounced many of the worldly pleasures to work for their party and their country. When will Indian journalism stop being small, petty, untruthful, without any depth or vision? The mastery of English does not make an Indian better than a simple country folk of UP or Tamil Nadu, who lives more in his or her heart than these arrogant journalist and intellectuals. I was most of the day, when the election results came, on the WION TV studio, with different panels of journalists. Most of them were of the old Nehruvian-Marxist mold, dinosaurs, who do not realize that they are out of sync with reality and are clinging to an obscure and anti-evolutionary path. One of them, from the Hindu newspaper, even said that demonetization was ‘communal’! Can you imagine how biased the guy can be?

All right, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got four out of five states. Nothing wrong with that: Chanakya would have approved and the Indian National Congress, who cries foul about Goa & Manipur, did much worse than that. One doesn’t need a deep political insight to predict that the BJP is soon going to rule the whole of India – both at the Centre and in the states – exactly the way Congress had done during the Nehru-Indira Gandhi era. And that the writing for Congress has been on the wall ever since. Will the sycophancy of the Indian National Congress ever stop? It’s a remnant of colonialism, a legacy of Macaulay, who wanted to have brown sahibs as tools. On top of that, Rahul Gandhi has no dignity: he should immediately have taken responsibility for his party’s thrashing and resigned. There are plenty of talented people in the Congress ranks who can take his place.

One of the big tasks of Mr Modi, now that he has secured more of a majority in the Raja Sabha, is to reform education. Many have said that his choice ofYogi Adityanath as the UP Chief Minister, shows that he is moving towards a Hindu India, away from secularism. However, as I have explained in a series of articles in this blog, Hindu power will always be compassionate: Hindu men and women are still today the only people in the world who recognise that God may manifest Himself or Herself at different times, using different names, and different scriptures. This is why a Hindu is still capable of worshipping not only in his own temple, but also to enter in a Christian church or a Muslim mosque, and that with respect and devotion. The reverse is not true

But for that it is important that Hindu children, know their own history, their poets, such as the great Kalidasa, who is on par with Shakespeare or Homer; their warriors, such as Maharana Pratap, Shivaji Maharaj and many others, who are as good, if not more visionary and more spiritual than Napoleon; their heroines, like the Rani of Jhansi, or Ahilyabai of Indore, or Chennama, who easily compare with Joan of Arc; their philosophers, such as Sri Aurobindo, whose depth, height and knowledge is as wide and much greater than Nietzsche or Kant; their artists, whose sculptures, such as the dancing Nataraj, or architects, who built the Meenakshi temple or the Rajasthan palaces, are so beautiful that they even survived the holocaust of repeated savage and bloody Muslim invasions – see the Hampi/Vijaynagar statues, every one of which the noses and ears have been chopped, but which still retain their ethereal beauty…
In this way, they will grow up proud to be Hindus, wile retaining Hinduism’ broad outlook and tolerance, which actually is the knowledge that God is One but manifests Himself or Herself in multiple avatars, men and women.

Instead, what happens? Most of Hindu kids are brought up in schools and universities that mostly teach them western subjects and concepts and even Indian History is viewed through the negative western prism. As a result, not only do not they grow-up as Hindus, which would be a boon both to India and the world, but they become clones, good only for export – indeed Hindus are the biggest brain drain of the world, from India to the West.

Mr Narendra Modi can succeed in his task only if a new generation of Hindu youth grows up with that knowledge and help him and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to introduce the essential reforms – not only educational, but also, economic, constitutional , judicial, cultural, sports wise, that are needed for India to become a real superpower and spread this great Knowledge that will save the world.

THE BJP SHOULD NOT BE ARROGANT

Dear friends, there is no doubt that a BJP Govt – and Mr Narendra Modi as PM – will be a huge improvement for India & Hindus, here and worldwide. The Congress has dragged down this country and still does, selfishly, without any concern for the people that have elected them. Growth will dip soon at 4,5%, while China, which is India’s bitter and most dangerous enemy, is soaring without any competition worth the name.

At the same time, we have seen that the BJP, once in power, quickly forgets about its true goals, what the people who have elected them want & falls in the Nehruvian fold of power and its Delhi trappings. Already there is an arrogance in the BJP that ‘ we are already there’, while Rahul Gandhi and his mother are  quietly gaining votes with the rural innocent people of India, by TV adds, for example, which are simple, but have an appeal to the heart (however  false there are). Already, Mr Narendra Modi, has become unreachable, even to his staunch supporters. One understands that campaigning is his priority and that it is a tiring business. But if you look at the US elections, Obama’s campaigns, for instance, it’s as exhausting, there are even more meetings, in small towns, which Mr Modi avoids, America is as big and Obama himself shakes a million hands, eats hamburgers, carries babies, sings with children, which Mr Modi also avoids because of ‘security’ concerns. But Obama is probably  targeted even more than Mr Modi by Islamist terrorists.

This is why, if you love India, you should be all after your BJP local representatives, by voice, letters, mails, push them, prod them to remain true to your aspirations, your needs, your hopes. As for me, I have always been a journalist who stands by his intuitions, from moment to moment, without bending to the line of my editors or of any party, even the BJP. MY first love is Mother India, Her Welfare, Her protection in the face of so many threats She is facing at the moment. I know that Kejriwal is a Marxist at heart and does not have much love for the Hindus. At the same time, he is the only one who has the guts to fight corruption & the VIP system, which is corroding India – and as a journalist I have to praise him of that, even if his tools of dharna are ridiculed (but were they not Gandhi’s favorite tools?) even if it’s a losing battle. And mind you, the common people may vote for his party again in greater numbers. He is even admired abroad.

So friends, do not be mad at me if sometimes I criticize the BJP and Mr Modi. While I have a lot of respect for Narendra Modi, whom I met several times, while I am probably the only foreign journalist who has defended him for ten years, much before he was the PM candidate of the BJP (as I have defended Murli Manohar Joshi, Advani and Vajpayee in the 90’s), I have seen that Mr Modi is also like many other Indian politicians of the Congress and the BJP: he takes and gives back little. The art of Living Foundation of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, for instance, has worked tirelessly for Mr Modi, not only in Gujarat, but all over India. But Mr Modi in return, has never done anything for the Art of Living which does so much free sewa in India and needs support at all levels. As I said, I have written countless articles praising him in the French and even  US media, but my publisher Har Anand of Delhi, has been begging him for 6 months to release my latest book “a History of India as it Happened, not as it has been written”, a book that rewrites Indian History and is crucial to the thoughts of the Hindus, anywhere, anytime – but we never got an answer.

As Sri Aurobindo said in his Hour of God, this is the hour of the unexpected. Long Live Mother India

A WESTERN JOURNALIST ON LK ADVANI

When I started reporting in India, I had the same ideas as most western journalists : secularism, as practiced by Jawarlahal Nehru, was the best policy for India, given its caste and religion differences; Islam was a peaceful religion; and there were also Hindu fanatics.

But I had been given three boons by the Lord: I spent the first seven years of my life in India far from Delhi (in Pondicherry); I read Sri Aurobindo extensively and discovered that he had a towering mind, educated in the West, but Himalayan in its breadth; & I started freelancing in the South, which is much softer, much more attuned to its culture and spirituality than northern India.

Thus, when I interviewed K.R. Malkani, then one of the spokespersons of the BJP in 1988, I went there thinking I would get a Hindu ‘nationalist’ spiel. I was surprised to find a very cultured man, who spoke softly and courteously. And funniest of all, most of the things he said made sense and reminded me of what Sri Aurobindo had written nearly a hundred years before. Thus I became, probably the only ever western correspondent sympathetic to the BJP (Mark Tully, who has an intuition of Hinduism, always remained too British and too Christian to cross that threshold).

I met LK Advani in Jaipur in 1989 and took an instant liking to him: his forthrightness, Spartan simplicity and forceful thoughts. I remember in these days, there were only 3 pillars of the BJP: Advani, MM Joshi and Vajpayee. I was never very impressed by Mr Vajpayee, though no doubt he was a consensus man and an able statesman: but both the times I interviewed him one to one, I found that he had no knowledge about the world and nothing much of interest to say. But I had a lot of admiration for Mr Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Both demonstrated that they had guts: MM Joshi by raising the Indian flag in Srinagar in 1992, which at that time was made fun by the entire Indian media; and LK Advani by breaking a jinx : Muslims destroyed hundreds of thousands, if not millions of temples in india, but he was the one who had the guts to destroy that one mosque, abandoned as it was. It was a symbolic message of the Hindu renaissance.

The pity is that these three kept each other neutralized: MM Joshi and LK Advani have hated each other for the last 20 years and Vajpayee made sure that Advani always remained N°2 in the BJP.

I however always though that L.K. Advani’s reputation as a fanatic hardliner and a hawk was misplaced: I have spent many moments in his home and I have never heard him raise his voice. In fact, I doubt he ever hit someone in his life: he is very much a family man, dedicated to his wife Kamla and daughter Pratibha, both of them remarkably intelligent. In fact, it often struck me that these two women were the two biggest influences in his life.

Wen the BJP again lost the last elections in 2009, I met Mr Advani shortly thereafter alone in his office & he firmly told me: “it’s time for me to retire from politics”. I believed him then: Advani is a quiet man, whatever the press says, he likes to read, think, watch films and spend quality time with his family.

Yet today, he is clearly positioning himself as the BJP PM candidate for 2014 and that is wrong. For one, he will be 87 at the beginning of his mandate and 92 at the end of it, when most of the leaders in other parts of the world are in their fifties or even forties. Secondly, he is wrecking the chances of the BJP, because, whether it is fair or not, he does not have a good image with the electorate. Thirdly, as usual, in the true tradition of Hindu disunity, he is stabbing in the back Narendra Modi, the only man who has a chance to beat Rahul Gandhi and bring the BJP back to power. Fourthly, however much I liked LK Advani, when he was Home minister and deputy PM, he did not do better than the Congress: neither did he help the poor Tibetans as he had promised, nor did he show any iron hand in Kashmir, nor did he stand up to the Chinese. In fact he did nothing except trying to project a goody image of himself and the BJP.

For all these reasons, I , who has been the one and only western correspondent friend of the BJP in all these years say:
DEAR MR ADVANI, PLEASE BE TRUE TO YOUR WORD AND STEP DOWN FROM THE BJP, SO AS TO LEAVE THE PLACE TO NARENDRA MODI, WHO NOT ONLY SHOWED THAT HE DOES THIBGS BY MAKING OF GUJARAT A MODEL FOR ALL OTHER INDIAN STATES, BUT ALSO IS THE ONLY CHANCE OF THE BJP IN THE NEXT ELECTIONS

PS It does not help that LK Advani refused point blank to help the Shivaji Maharaj Museum of Indian History, Pune. If there ever was a Museum dedicated to the Hindus, it was this one

CYNICISM AND POLITICS

One hopes that the people of India are not blind to the utter cynicism of some of its politicians. The way they have efficiently and ruthlessly killing the whole Lokpal movement with the help of deceit and slander is frightening. The way they have campaigned in UP, further deepening the religious divide there, is appalling. All the while, Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, whose party is not only the main recipient of corruption, but actually institutionalized it, throw decoys at us with declarations of ‘zero tolerance of corruption’.

It’s funny how this Government is hell bent in preserving what is corrupt, untruthful, inefficient – as symbolized by the alliance they still have with the Karunanidhi, in spite of the numerous proofs that a great chunk of the 2G scam went to the DMK family – and fanatic, about destroying what is free of corruption and is prosperous.

Sonia Gandhi has been on a personal vendetta against Shri Narendra Modi for a long time. She had found a useful tool in the person of Teesta Setalvad, who, it has now be discovered, has bribed witnesses, filed false affidavits and committed repeated perjuries in court. Teesta’s usefulness has thus come near an end as she may soon land in jail, so now the Congress Government has found another willing tool in Gujarat police officer Sanjiv Bhatt to implicate Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the post-Godhra riots.

The Government has unfortunately subverted its investigative instruments such as the SIT or the CBI, once upon a time a highly respected institution, who is on the one hand going after the Chief Minister of Gujarat, while it closes its eyes to the wrongs that other CM’s of the Congress or allied to the Congress, such as the DMK, have been openly doing.

For example, in nearly the same breath, the CBI requested a few months back the judiciary to drop the case against Jagdish Tytler, who was seen by innumerable witnesses leading mobs to murder Sikhs, while it is going all guns blazing against Narendra Modi, who at the best was caught off guard when the riots in Gujarat broke in 2002, or at the worst delayed in calling the army. But did not Rajiv Gandhi do the same thing (“When a big tree falls, the earth shakes”, he said), after his mother was ruthlessly murdered, by her own bodyguards, whom she had trusted in spite of repeated warnings? A defenseless woman machine-gunned while lying on the ground. Rajiv also delayed calling in security forces: is not the anger of men always the same, whichever their ideology?

It is logical that the hallowed legal instruments of Indian democracy are blatantly used to pin down the Chief Minister of the most lawful state in India, the least corrupt, the most prosperous, which impresses with its efficiency even non BJP tycoons, such Ratan Tata, when a Lalu Prasad was allowed to loot Bihar and keep it in the most desolate state, because he was an ally? It is illogical that, if they manage to indict Mr. Modi, the opposition in Gujarat will probably bring back the State to its earlier condition of corruption, disorganization and inefficiency? As usual, it will be the common man who will suffer.

Is it logical today that the Indian media only highlight the 2002 Gujarat riots, carefully omitting the fact that they were triggered by the horrifying murder of 57 Hindus, 36 of them innocent women and children, burnt like animals in the Sabarmati Express? Riots of that intensity, like in Gujarat, do not happen in a day, they are a result of long term pent-up angers and a spark like the killing of Hindu brothers and sisters, whose only crime was that they believed that Ram was born in Ayodhya, is enough the ignite the smouldering fire.

Is it logical that only Mr Modi is targeted? But who went down in the streets in fury in 2002? Hundreds, if not thousands of Gujratis, not only from the lower strata of society, not only Dalits, but also middle class, and sometimes even upper middle class! Should they also not be judged and condemned? But then it would be the whole of Gujarat who should be hauled to court, an ancient and noble race, who gave so much to India, including Mahatma Gandhi, and today is still exporting all over the world its upright and successful businessmen, to the US, for instance, where they own most of the motels. Nobody dares do that; it’s much each easier to target Mr. Modi.

It is widely known that the dreaded Khalistan movement in Punjab was quelled in the 80’s by super cop KPS Gill in a ruthless manner by a number of ‘fake encounters’ which killed top Sikh separatists. This was done under a Congress Government, both at the Center and in Punjab. Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister then. Why was he never indicted? Because terrorists have no law and they kill, burn, bomb, innocent people. And sometimes ruthless methods have to be used against them.

Why is Mrs Sonia Gandhi going so single mindedly against Narendra Modi, using brazenly the Government’s legal appendages? Because, at the moment he seems to be the only alternative to her son, Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister in the next general elections. That is pure logics, and we should give credit to Mrs Gandhi for her cunning and ruthlessness.

It’s also no good to be a Hindu in Sonia Gandhi’s India. No, it is better to be a Quattrochi at the moment, who was exonerated by the CBI, which went to the extent to let him get away with the thousands of crores he had looted from India. Or even a terrorist, a murderer and a smuggler, like Sohrabuddin, from whose house in M.P., 40 AK-47 Rifles, as well as number of live Hand Grenades and Bullets were confiscated, who was declared ” Wanted” in Five States of India and against whom 40 crime cases were registered. Then you stand a chance to be protected by the Government of India, while those who have at heart their country’s integrity go to jail.

Mrs Gandhi has achieved such terrifying power, a glance of her, a silence, just being there, is enough for her inner circle to act; she has subverted so much of the instruments of Indian democracy and she controls such huge amounts of unlisted money, that sooner or later this karma may come back to her under one form or the other.
